SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL

"Moses was afflicted with a speech impairment so that no one should think that his success in transmitting the Torah to the world was due to his oratory skills."
- Derashot HaRan

Speaking only when spoken to, not speaking when spoken to, in control at all times of what words you exchange with others, having uncircumcised lips as Moses did, keeping the sound of your music to yourself, speaking words of purity, not speaking at all.

Hearing no evil, seeing no evil, speaking no evil. Not letting loose one's thoughts, having a bridle on one's mouth, thinking before you speak, saying only agreeable words, not looking for a fight or argument, keeping one's words all clean, not jumping into the wrong words, holding back impure speech, not gossiping, not challenging, not criticizing or insulting. Having holy silent moments, not intruded upon, not jostled or exposed.

The written word over the spoken word. Having all thoughts come through one's fingers on a typewriter keyboard, hands holding back the wrong words, seeing words that are never spoken but as written oaths, writings as covenants with G-d, words that are holy, words that are not wasted, words you can read over and over again, to understand what is written, to not hear what is spoken.

To be in the right words at all times, to always type words of love, goodness, and righteousness, to not be steered in the wrong direction, to not be cheated or lied to.

To have a command of the written word, to always write the truth, to not be afraid to write the truth.

To hold one's speech and feel peace.
