PRAYING AT HOME ON SHABBAT

"Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day"—Exodus 16:29

It is forbidden on Shabbat to travel more than 2,000 cubits (approximately 3000 ft.) out of a city's parameters."

No traveling and no working on Shabbat, not to travel away from one's home, staying within your town, being at home sweet home, praying at home, lighting candles at home. Singing the candle-lighting blessing, covering one's eyes, feeling the warmth of the flame, its brightness on your own hearth, in your own habitat, not going far away, being in familiar surroundings, being at home.

Spending the morning in bed, or in prayer at a Shul, resting longer and more complete than you usually do on a weekday. Feeling the peace of G-d's protection as the rest encompasses your body and mind, soul and heart.

Dressing up in your finest clothing, putting on a beautiful outfit to flair to others, to identify as being Jewish, to keeping up the ritual tradition of resting on a Saturday, to dancing on a Friday night, to welcoming the Shabbat Bride into your home.

To know G-d is in all places, that He is "macom" [The Place].
